Jacquard for All was originally published in 1994, and has now been re-issued. The book is intended for machine knitters wishing to use the Double Jacquard feature of their machines to produce patterned fabric.
| The book starts right at the beginning with what double jacquard is and how the pattern is formed. Carriage settings for both Brother and Silver (punchcard and electronic) machines are illustrated and each action required is explained in easy to follow steps. |
 |
| A variety of fabric types is explained including plain-backed jacquard, quilting and blister fabrics, laddered and birds eye jacquard. Once you have mastered these techniques you can move on to single motifs and four colour designs. With sections of taking a tension, shaping, weighting, cut and sew, and an all important section on "putting it right". |
The book is A4 in size, contains 48 pages and is illustrated in black-and-white and colour. It has a soft cover and is comb-bound for ease of use. |
The book received rave reviews when first issued:
"The book is excellent and starts right from the beginning ... . In fact, the whole book is a masterpiece and well worth a space on your bookshelf" [To & Fro Oct / Nov 1994].
"This would be an excellent book to read first and then take to the machine and work through the examples" [Machine Knitting Today Aug 1994]
